Dealing With Insomnia Without Medication

Here are a few ways which you can cure insomnia without taking medication:

Sleeping Habits

Only go to the bed for sleep and for sex. Nothing else. This will train your brain to feel sleepy when you’re on the bed. You should only go to bed when you are feeling sleepy. Cut out the habits such as reading or watching TV in bed. Also, make sure your mattress is firm and comfortable. This will help the quality of the sleep.

Meditation
When you have problem falling asleep, try to do some meditation.

This is very simple. Find a comfortable, silent place and sit down relaxed. Turn on some soft, relaxing music and close your eyes.

Relax the whole of your body and reckon about pleased thoughts only. Reckon about relaxing in the beach with your family and having a excellent time with your friends. Keep those pleased, relaxing thoughts coming and do this for 15 minutes. After the meditation, you should be released from the stress and in a pleased, relaxed mood. Now go to bed and you should fall asleep much simpler. Remember to block the negative and stressful thoughts as soon as you sense them coming.

Avoid Nicotine
Before you go to sleep, don’t smoke. Smoking contains nicotine which keeps you awake. If you’re a heavy smoker, then one of the reasons you can’t go to sleep is because of the nicotine which is in your body.

Warm Milk
Drinking warm milk will help you go to sleep. Sometimes adding honey to the milk also helps.

Warm Bath
Taking a warm bath helps your muscle to relax and you will feel more tired. Going to sleep in this state is very effective.

Eating Cheese, Eggs and Fish for Dinner
Cheese, eggs and fish contain tryptophan which helps your body produce the chemical serotonin. This serotonin chemical enables you to have a deeper and better quality sleep.
